· IR sensors (Infrared sensor) are modules which detect the presence of objects before them. If the object is present it give as output and if it is not present it gives 0 volt. This is made possible by using a pair of IR pair (transmitter and receiver), the transmitter (IR LED) will emit an IR ray which will get reflected if there is a object present before it.

· Introduction to IR Sensors Infrared (IR) light is invisible electromagnetic radiation. Everything absorbs and emits IR, and it''s utilised in a plethora of applications. You may have heard of IR used in night vision equipment. This is becuase, in low visiblelight conditions, everything still emits IR radiation. The night vision equipment has IR sensors which detect and output this information!

The DS18B20 and DS18S20 represents a very simple sensor. These Raspberry Pi sensors are addressed via the socalled 1wire bus. An advantage is that many different 1wire components can be connected in series and read out by a single GPIO.

· The IR Sensor Module has only three Pins: VCC, GND and Data. Connect the VCC and GND pins of the IR Sensor to +5V and GND pins of the Raspberry Pi.
